ABSTRACT

At the present time, with the advancement of technology, the demand for electric power is increasing at an exponential rate. Many consumer appliances demand quality power continuously for their operation. The performance of the end user equipment is heavily dependent on the quality of power supplied to it. But the quality of power delivered to the end user is affected by various external and internal factors. They are like voltage and frequency variations, faults, outages etc. These power quality problems reduce the life time and efficiency of the equipment. Thus, to enhance the performance of the consumer equipment and also the overall performance of the system these problems should be mitigated. The main affect caused by these problems is the presence of harmonics. This leads to the overheating of the equipment, insulation failure and over speeding of induction motors etc. The solution to overcome these problems is to filter out these harmonics. For this purpose there are many filters topologies present in the literature. In this project a hybrid later which is a combination of series active filter and shunt passive filter is studied. This project presents the control strategy to control the filter in such a way that the harmonics are reduced. The proposed control strategy is simulated in MATLAB SIMULINK and the results are presented.

In this review, numerous chemical reactions of CH activation have been presented. The reactivity of CH bond has been enhanced by the using of different types of catalytic coordination compounds. The CH bond has been utilized in the synthesis of different types of important and useful organic compounds. The main break through was found by using the transition elements as catalysts for the CH activation and conversion.

ABSTRACT

Compressors are one among the kinds of turbo machinery which are wont to move air continuously with in slight increase in static pressure. Although, the fan is typically selected for nontechnical reasons like price, delivery, availability of space, packaging etc. Impeller is that the core component of the centrifugal fan, and therefore the impeller loss is that the main source of the fan loss. The impeller performance directly determines the performance of the fan, so an approach to enhance the aerodynamic performance of centrifugal fan is vital in designing a high-performance centrifugal impeller. The model of the centrifugal fan is formed in CATIA V5R20. Optimization of centrifugal fan are going to be done by material. Modal analysis of centrifugal fan is going to be perform using ANSYS 19 software to determine natural frequency over different mode shape. In experimentation, Impact hammer test and FFT analyzer are going to be used for the validation purpose. Natural frequencies for centrifugal fan structure with reinforcement are going to be calculated. Results and conclusion are going to be drawn by comparing analytical and experimental values. Suitable material is going to be suggested.

ABSTRACT

Today business environment is changing its nature of operations day by day and it is largely dependent on the database that serves as a backbone for any types of enterprise business need and industrial activities, such as production, sales, advertising, marketing, different sorts of reports, charts and other business requirements. The distributed database, complexities of database design and large numbers of attributes of a particular operation, dynamic SQL queries, etc., are proving costlier than before. Access of data in different forms and from different sources in a optimized or tuned environment results into low consumption of computing resources. Writing SQL queries in an optimized way does not always proved beneficial because the database specific query execution plans carry greater importance, therefore, database server specific optimization is also equally important while we consider swift query execution. Database design is also one of the most important factor while we ponder about the query performance and reasource consumption issues in any Database Management System.

In this paper, we studied, examined and explained what sorts of DBMS tools, techniques and logical parameters are applicable to enhance the query execution in a distributed database environment.

The process of cloud cost optimization is a path that must be continued over the product lifecycle as demand and requirements change, as well as IT services evolve with technological advancements. ABSTRACT

A flame, whether tiny or enormous, is an unfavourable location, situation, or moment. Every location, in general, has the potential to encounter a fire. However, smoke sensors are currently the most extensively used instruments for detecting fires. Smoke sensors can only detect flames that are huge in size. As a result, a method to identify early fires is required. The basic equipment for this project is a laptop and a webcam, which will be used to design an image-based fire detection system. The approach for identifying fire using Neural Networks (YOLO).

ABSTRACT

Convergent-divergent nozzles are mechanical devices which are used in steam turbine to convert the thermal and pressure energy into useful kinetic energy. The values of temperature, pressure and velocity is available at every section of the nozzle to design the nozzle shape by using theoretical formulation. A Nozzle of certain dimension is taken and it is modelled in SOLIDWORKS software and then it is imported to ANSYS 16.0 Workbench. The characteristics of steam flow i.e. (Mach number, static pressure, density, velocity magnitude and static temperature) distributions for the convergent divergent nozzle are implemented by using the ANSYS Cfx16.0 software to analyse the nozzle fluid flow. The validation of these Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) results is carried out using the experimental results.

ABSTRACT

Dosing pump is one type of metering pump which has character of cyclic accuracy and is able to pump a broad range of chemicals like bases, acids, viscous liquid and slurry. The suction of fluid is done or actuated by a reciprocating piston which has direct contact with fluid or contact avoided with help of diaphragm. Diaphragms actuated by fluid between the piston and diaphragm. Dosing pump moves an accurate volume of fluid in specific time period, so it provides an accurate volume flow rate. The reason of quantity control is towards reduce the turbidity of the consumable water lower than convenient standard. Common controllers namely Proportional Integral and Derivative controllers will not convenient to apply here because of quality of water handling practice. Particularly in water treatment plant knob controller is chosen. In present system of pump the size and weight of pump is very high which increases overall cost of pump and its accessories. Due to high weight and size of pump foundation structure should be rigid for mounting of pump on it. Size to power ratio will became very high. Current Pump is able to provide only a single output flow rate of fluid which affects quality of mixed fluid and limits the function of it.

Gears are common in mechanical machines mostly and do numerous crucial jobs and its importance is that it can provide speed reduction. This is imperative to guarantee that even though there is sufficient power there should be an adequate amount of torque. Gear box should generate maximum power at output shaft possessing minimum weight. So to overcome these disadvantages we are going to optimize size and weight of its component. Here size and weight of gear is objective function in optimization problem with multiple variables. Another focus on achieving multiple flow rates according to fluid mixture component proportion, it tend to increase the function capability of pump i.e multipurpose pump.
